New ways of representing global values

GSK is one of the three largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. GSK’s Consumer Healthcare Business Unit competes according to the requirements of the FMCG market. As part of the new global strategy, the American headquarters announced it’s new strategic values. ( “Act as the Leaders We Are.”) The new and complex values have to be reflected in the everyday work. GSK’s HR is in charge of overseeing the result of the learning process of these values. ALEAS team was contracted to develop an e-learning course to teach the new values based on decision making models. After reading each decision – making situation, GSK users are given three decision options to choose from. The options are scored on a nine point scale which reflect the level of difficulty in executing each decision option. (1 = very easy, 9 = very difficult). In the evaluation process, the user realizes what is the best answer based on the new valus as well as the level of difficulty in execution. In the e-learning environment, users can compare in a risk-free manner their own behavior with that preferred by the organization. The feedback from the course graphically shows differences between the user’s work style and the company’s expectations.
